Ice cream and desserts in Pensacola: downtown, East Hill and Ninth Avenue

Downtown has most of Pensacola’s sweets within a few blocks: AJ’s ice cream counter on Jefferson Street, Parlor Doughnuts on Palafox Place and a gelato kiosk at The Garden. Nothing Bundt Cakes is on East Gregory Street, Craft is on Scenic Highway, and the rest are north on North Ninth Avenue and Bayou Boulevard.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Pensacola’s city limits, the same records that feed our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 11, 2026. We added places the map missed from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s restaurant inspection records and The Garden at Palafox + Main, and checked every added address against the city limits. Where a site would not load or gives no phone, the phone is from our directory record. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or recommendation; nobody paid to be on it. A place can write to us to correct its entry.

The places

AJ’s Market & Ice Cream, 140 S. Jefferson St. A soda fountain-style ice cream counter and convenience market on the street level of the Southtowne building, a block east of Palafox Street. It has indoor and outdoor bistro seating.

Craft Gourmet Bakery & Cafe, 615 Scenic Highway. A bakery that makes its pastries, cakes and gelato in-house. Its Scenic Highway cafe has table service and sells cakes and desserts.

Culver’s, 4400 Bayou Blvd. A chain known for ButterBurgers and fresh frozen custard, with a drive-thru open an hour later than the dining room.

Downtown Desert Bar, The Garden at Palafox + Main. A kiosk selling Italian gelato at the covered outdoor food hall, The Garden’s site says.

Krispy Kreme, 980 N. Ninth Ave. The doughnut chain’s shop on North Ninth Avenue, open from 6 a.m. every day.

Marble Slab Creamery, 5405 N. Ninth Ave. An ice cream chain. Its site sent us to a sister brand’s page that would not load; the state inspected the shop in July 2026.

Nothing Bundt Cakes, 501 E. Gregory St. A bakery chain that sells Bundt cakes, including birthday cakes, with delivery.

Parlor Doughnuts, 120 Palafox Place. A shop for layered doughnuts that serves doughnuts and coffee only, its page says.

Smallcakes, 5046 Bayou Blvd. A cupcake shop in the chain’s list of locations. Each shop is independently owned and sets its own hours and offerings, the chain says.
