Concentra's first Panhandle clinic is open at 6235 N. Davis Highway for work injuries, DOT physicals and drug tests. It gives $10,000 to BRACE at its Oct. 27 ribbon cutting.

Concentra has opened its first medical center in Pensacola. The occupational health company is at 6235 N. Davis Highway, Suite 113, and it is the chain’s first location in the Florida Panhandle.

The company announced the opening on Thursday, Oct. 22, in a news release. It said the center will also serve workers from nearby Alabama communities that had no Concentra center before.

What the center does

Concentra treats people through their work, usually when an employer sends them. The release lists these services at the Pensacola center:

  • work injury care
  • physical therapy
  • Department of Transportation physicals for commercial drivers
  • pre-placement physicals for new hires
  • drug and alcohol screening
  • respirator fit testing and medical surveillance

Concentra Telemed is also available for eligible minor work injuries, the company said.

The company named the industries it aims to serve here: aviation, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, defense, health care, financial services and maritime.

A $10,000 gift for storm recovery

Local employers and business leaders will hold a ribbon cutting at the center Tuesday, Oct. 27. The release did not give a time.

At the ceremony, Concentra will give $10,000 to Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies, known as BRACE. The Northwest Florida nonprofit works on disaster preparedness, response and recovery in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Concentra said the gift will support BRACE’s work coordinating help for families recovering from Hurricane Isaias.

BRACE is one of the agencies staffing the city’s Multi-Agency Resource Center at the Bayview Senior Center.

“Concentra’s investment in Pensacola adds another resource for employers and strengthens the infrastructure that supports our region’s workforce,” said Todd Thomson, president and CEO of the Greater Pensacola Chamber, in the release.
