Hotel Margot has reopened at 200 N. Palafox St. with 45 rooms, a courtyard pool and Colette Cafe, a bakery open to the public. Who owns it and what is inside.
Hotel Margot has reopened at 200 N. Palafox St. in downtown Pensacola. The boutique hotel has 45 rooms, a courtyard pool and a cafe and bakery that is open to the public.
The hotel announced the reopening in an Oct. 9 news release. The release said the Greater Pensacola Chamber’s grand-opening ribbon cutting was set for Wednesday, Oct. 28.
What is inside
The release and the hotel’s own website list:
- 45 guest rooms, which the website says come in nine different styles
- a courtyard pool, which the website says has reserved loungers and DJs on weekends
- Colette Cafe, serving coffee, sourdough and pastries to hotel guests and the public
The state’s restaurant inspectors recorded “Colette Cafe at Margot” at the same address on Sept. 16. It appears in our list of new food businesses in Pensacola.
Who is behind it
The hotel belongs to Rafael Simpson and Graham Guirl, two Pensacola business owners, the release said. Their investment firm, Dean Street, is also behind Colette Cafe and Harry’s Proper Burger.
The pair also own two other downtown properties, the Artisan Building and 17 West Main, the release said.
“We believe in Pensacola and believe in the future of downtown,” Simpson said in the release.
“Downtown Pensacola has an incredible history and a tremendous future,” Guirl said. “You can preserve the character of a place while still creating something new, exciting and relevant.”
